Must I Register My Dog With AKC?
We do require that you register your dog with the American Kennel Club. We pay the basic registration fee and assist you in filling it out when you pick up your pup. We highly recommend that you microchip or tatoo him with this AKC registration number providing permanent identification in case of an unforeseen circumstance.

How are Pups Selected?

Pups are selected for each family according to our recommendations. We begin making notes about the individual puppy's behavior the day they are born. At 7 weeks of age they are given a Temperament Test and Field Evaluation by an experienced dog trainer. Those that show strong prey drive and hunting instincts will go to families who have indicated they want a competition and companion hunting dog . "Pick" of the litter is reserved for our breeding program here at Grouse Mt OR for the client who wishes to show their dog in the field and/or conformation ring and will enter into a breeding contract with Grouse Mt.
