Grouse MT Brittany's purpose is to produce healthy, intelligent, AKC standard, American Brittanys with intense hunting instincts. The most endearing quality of the Brittany should be their desire to please. This desire makes the well-bred Brittany one of the easiest gun dogs to train. Providing these beautiful dogs to suitable clients with the goal of raising the standard with each planned breeding is what we are about.
GROUSE MT SWEET L.C.~ BORN AUGUST 20, 2000
L.C. was out of the first litter produced at Grouse Mt Ranch. She has produced many fine family gun dogs including those that have been proven in both the field and show ring. Her sire is DC Sam's Hardy Spot RJ owned by Joyce & Robert Wire; her dam "Annie" is out of the Ban-Dee line and was our first Brittany. Elsie is a natural bird dog, having very little formal training she holds point until the shot, retrieves both on land and water, backs, and works the field like a seasoned gun dog. She moves like silk and is quick as lightening at the prime age of eight. Although a severe injury kept her from finishing her show career, she is a beauty worthy of the champion title. She stands 18.5 inches tall and weighs 34 pounds. Elsie retired from the whelping box after her final litter in 2006. She has returned to the field to hunt and to the couch to be cherished.
CH GROUSE MT CLASSIC EDITION, MH ~ Born June 6, 2004 ~ OFA Good
Kimber is a third generation Grouse Mt dog. We feel very fortunate that she came along so early in our breeding program. Her sire is RJ's First Edition, MH and her dam is our L.C. Kimber stands 18.5 inches tall and weighs 33 pounds. Not just a pretty girl, Kimber is also a fantastic, intense bird dog and field competitor. She achieved the title of Senior Hunter in 4 straight attempts before her 2nd birthday followed by her Master Hunter title passing 6 tests in a row. Kimber earned her conformation championship points solely under the lead of our daughter who was a junior handler at the time. She is a flashy girl with stunning movement and structure having never entered the ring without a win. She is a loving companion as well; being happiest sleeping at the foot of the bed. Kimber has produced her final litter in 2009. She will now return to field trialing to finish her dual championship.
GROUSE MT SHOSHONI LEGEND, MH ~ Born November 14, 2001 ~ OFA Good
Boone is everything we could ask for in a hunting dog and family companion. He is intelligent, biddable, and yet always on the edge of his "drive". He achieved the title of Master Hunter before his fourth birthday. He stands 18 inches tall and weighs 35 pounds. His coat is short and dense and is white and orange with some ticking. Having completed his Master Hunter title, Boone is now competing in both the Amateur and Open Gun Dog stakes in AKC Field Trials. Boone's sire is DC Masked Shoshoni War Chief, JH and his dam is CH KJ's Miss Chievous Amanda both owned by Ken & Jane Windom.
GROUSE MT LEGENDARY EDITION, JH ~ Born December 8, 2006 ~ OFA Good
"Parker" was sired by Boone (above) and her mama is Kimber (above). Parker earned her Junior Hunter title in 4 straight attempts at the young age of 8 months. She is preparing to enter broke dog field trial stakes by being hunted this year on club grounds and on wild birds. She stands 18" and weighs 30 pounds. She is well on her way to completing her conformation championship once again being handled by our daughter Kasarah. Parker's movement is unmistakably passed on by her mother; her natural free-stack, bird work and intensity an imprint of her father. Parker will be bred in December 2009; hopefully producing her first litter of champion hunting dogs!
